Welcome to May!
This month is all about celebrating and remembering the people who shape our lives. As spring blossoms in full, we take time to honor the amazing moms and mother figures who nurture us with love, strength, and wisdom. We also pause in gratitude on Memorial Day to remember the heroes who gave everything in service to our country.

From festive gatherings to meaningful moments of reflection, May is packed with events to enjoy. Here’s what’s happening this month in our community!

May 3rd — Beginning Mountain Biking (Military) 8am-3pm

May 3rd — Chum Run – Register 8:30-9am Fort Casey State Park — Starts at 10am Get your gear here

May 3rd & 4th — Whidbey Island Cultural Festival 11am – 5pm

May 3rd – 9am-noon &  2pm-5pm- @ Fleet and Family Support Center — Teen Resument & Interview Preparation (Military)

May 3rd – 12pm – 3:30pm —General Quarters open Play Paintball 

May 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th — Opening Day of Farmers Market @ South Whidbey Tilth –  11am – 3pm

May 4th — Star Wars Day — ALL DAY 11am – 10pm  All Episodes I, II, III in the theater and trivia hosted at 1pm. (Military)

May 6th & 20th —1st & 3rd Tues of the Month – @ 5pm – volunteer gardening.  Earn double the volunteer hrs (Military)

May 8th, 15th, 22nd, & 29th  — Oak Harbor Farmers Market 4pm – 7pm

May 10th — Paint By Numbers @ 1pm at the Liberty Center (Military)

May 10th — Penn Cove Water Festival 11am-5pm

May 11th — Meerkerk Gardens – Mother’s Day concert  12pm-4pm

May 15th — DIY Jewelry @ 5pm.  Make your own keychain, phone strap or braclet. (Military)

May 23rd — Friday New Movie @ 5pm 

May 24th & 25th — Whidbey Ren Faire – Purchase Tickets here 

May 25th — Coupeville Memorial Day Parade.  Starts at 11am 

May 31st — Post-Glacial Wildflowers at Deception Pass State Park — 1pm – 2:30pm
